Prime Video's full season 3 trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power shows Sauron nearing the One Ring. Episodes start November 11.

Prime Video has released the full trailer for the third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and it puts Sauron's push to forge the One Ring front and centre. The first four episodes arrive on November 11, 2026, according to the streamer's announcement and coverage from Ars Technica and Variety.

What the trailer shows

Ars Technica describes a trailer packed with a rising Sauron, who is intent on conquering Middle-earth with his army of Orcs while the elves, dwarves and men scramble to work out how to stop him. Deadline's account opens on the magma-streaked land of Mordor, with Sauron's voiceover declaring that he sees the path to victory. It closes on the ring itself, its inscription blazing to life.

Prime Video's official synopsis says the story picks up five years after the fall of Eregion, with Sauron's armies having marched across the world. Only a few pockets stand in his way, it says, among them the dwarven halls of Khazad-dum and the elven realms of Lindon and Rivendell, which are protected by their Three Rings. Variety adds that the trailer also leans on dragons, a Balrog and the Ringwraiths.

New faces in Middle-earth

Ars Technica notes that the trailer introduces the human men who will become the Ringwraiths. The showrunners have dubbed them the Nazgnagol, which the outlet translates as "Rings-servant". Among the new cast members, Jamie Campbell Bower plays Celeborn, Galadriel's long-lost husband. Zubin Varla plays Khamul the Easterling of Rhun, Eddie Marsan plays Thrain, and Andrew Richardson plays Anarion, youngest son of Elendil. Adam Young plays an Orc named Marnukh, who the outlet says "might not be what he seems".

Simon Pegg will voice the Balrog, a casting that was revealed at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, according to Variety. Returning cast members include Charlie Vickers as Sauron, Morfydd Clark as Galadriel and Robert Aramayo as Elrond. Variety lists J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay as showrunners, with Charlotte Brandstrom among the executive producers and directors.

Release schedule

Season three will not arrive all at once. Prime Video says the first four episodes premiere on November 11, episodes five and six follow on November 18, and the final two episodes land on November 25. The series streams exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories.

Ars Technica points out that Prime Video made a major investment in the series when it acquired the rights to the source material from the Tolkien estate, even committing to multiple seasons upfront. The season is set seven years after the events of season two, as the outlet counts it. With a teaser shown at Comic-Con earlier this year, this is the first full look at how the war reaches its peak.

The trailer is available on the Prime Video YouTube channel.
