Twelve of thirteen fights ended without the judges in Edmonton, and Canada's Mike Malott scored the knockout everyone will remember.

The UFC visited Edmonton on October 17, and the card at Rogers Place delivered the kind of night promoters dream about: almost every fight ended with a finish, and the main event ended with a single, clean knee. According to the UFC's own results and bonus reports, 12 of the 13 fights were decided without the judges, the first 11 all ended inside the distance, and the event set a record for the most stoppages on one UFC card.

The main event

Mike Malott, the home-country welterweight, knocked out Joaquin Buckley with a knee at 2:32 of the second round. The UFC describes the finish as Buckley dipping in to throw a strike just as Malott's knee met his chin. It was Malott's fifth win in a row, every one of them in Canada, and his second straight main-event finish. The UFC expects the win to push him into the top 10 when the rankings are next updated.

The co-main event

The women's flyweight co-main was the night's one trip to the scorecards. Jasmine Jasudavicius outpointed Erin Blanchfield, with all three judges scoring it 29-28. She controlled the first two rounds on the ground, and a third-round rally from Blanchfield was not enough to change the result. The UFC calls it the biggest win of Jasudavicius' career, and it is her seventh victory in her last eight fights.

The rest of the main card

  • Cristian Perez made his UFC debut, coming through Dana White's Contender Series, and knocked out Kyle Nelson 27 seconds into round one, after weathering an early heavy shot.
  • Marc-Andre Barriault, 36, got back to his feet after an early takedown and stopped Kyle Daukaus with elbows, a knee and ground strikes at 4:28 of round one. It was his first win after two straight losses.
  • Timmy Cuamba choked out debutant Louis Jourdain in round two for his first UFC submission win.
  • Mandel Nallo, 37, used his jab and leg kicks to stop Nate Landwehr in round two, a bounce-back after his loss in Winnipeg.

The bonuses

Four fighters took home a $100,000 Performance of the Night bonus: Malott, Nallo, Barriault and Joel Faglier, who stopped Javad Mahjoub in his UFC debut.

What White said, and what comes next

At the post-fight press conference, UFC chief Dana White praised the quality of the card and pointed out that half of the winners had been underdogs. He called the result ideal for Malott, who got his knockout in front of a home crowd. White also said he is looking forward to the next Canadian show, UFC 336 in Toronto on January 30, 2027.

Why it matters

A card full of finishes is great television, but the real story is the movement it creates. Malott's win gives the welterweight top 10 a new, confident name, Jasudavicius adds the biggest win of her career to her record, and several debutants arrived with something to show. For a fan, the takeaway is simple: when a card is this lopsided toward finishes, the replay of the main event is worth a few minutes of your time.
