## Key takeaways

- Druski hosted Saturday Night Live on Nov. 7, 2026, and Emma Stone joined his opening monologue, per Variety and Deadline.
- Stone, a Five-Timers Club member, is filming Universal's rom-com The Catch with Druski, Chris Pine and Ashley Padilla.
- Druski is the first digital content creator without a current movie or show to host SNL, according to Deadline. The Strokes were the musical guest.
- No release date for The Catch was given in the reports we read.

Druski's "Saturday Night Live" debut on Nov. 7 opened with a surprise: his upcoming movie co-star Emma Stone walked into the monologue and promptly shut down his joke that she is his love interest. Variety and Deadline both report that Stone, a member of the show's Five-Timers Club, joined the host while she is filming the Universal comedy "The Catch." The Strokes were the musical guest.

## What happened in Druski's SNL monologue?

Druski started by addressing his own history head-on. According to Variety, he said people call him the first internet content creator to host the show and listed some of the things people say about him, including that some people "only know me as a white woman." He promised the show would not water him down, then teased that he might do whiteface despite what he said were rules against it, per Deadline.

Then he said he had just finished filming his first movie with Emma Stone and that she was there. Stone came out, and the exchange went like this, as quoted by Variety and Deadline. Druski said he was playing her love interest in the film. Stone replied that she thought he "might have misread that in those scenes," because the two were not love interests, adding that it was now starting to make more sense why he kept looking at her that way.

Just Jared reports one more beat: Druski said that is probably why the two did not kiss in the film, and offered to get it done "if there's a part two." Variety adds the closing joke, in which he said he loved her in "Bugonia," and when she asked "Really?" he answered "No," saying he wanted to be the first Black guy to say it.

## What is The Catch with Emma Stone and Druski?

It is an upcoming Universal Pictures comedy. Deadline says Druski joined the cast in June alongside Stone, Chris Pine and "SNL" cast member Ashley Padilla, and describes it as a baseball rom-com. Variety says it is directed by Stone's husband, Dave McCary, a former "SNL" segment director and writer. None of the pages we read gave a release date, so we are not guessing at one.

## Why does this episode matter?

Variety and Deadline both say Druski is the first digital content creator to host the show without a current movie or TV show behind him, and Variety calls the booking the show's first major step into the creator space. NBC's own preview piece, published before the episode, said the same and noted that his satirical videos draw millions of views online. NBC cited a 24 million view figure for a 2025 dating-show parody and 15 million for a 2024 music-competition parody.

## What else was in the episode?

Variety reports that Druski later did a sketch built on the Nathan Fielder and Elizabeth Holmes documentary "You Can See Everything," in which, as a fake trailer, he appeared in whiteface as Holmes. Variety notes he has gone viral before for whiteface sketches. Variety and Deadline also wrote up the cold open, which we have not covered here.

## Our take

This is analysis, not reporting. The monologue worked because it was short, self-aware and gave him a straight partner. Stone's deadpan carried the joke, and the bit let him acknowledge the doubts about his booking before anyone else could. The harder test is the sketches, where Druski has to share the screen with a cast that has done this for years. Reviews of the full episode will say more than clips of the opening.

What we do not know: where U.S. viewers can stream the full episode, how many people watched live, and when "The Catch" opens. We did not see any of those in the reports we read.
