## Key takeaways

- Black Friday is Nov. 27, 2026 and Cyber Monday is Nov. 30, but Target starts Nov. 5, Best Buy Nov. 6 and Walmart Nov. 12.
- Walmart's events are Nov. 12-15, Nov. 23-29 and Nov. 30-Dec. 2; Best Buy runs 10 days of Black Friday deals from Nov. 19.
- Amazon had not posted Black Friday Week dates in the sources we read, and IGN's page gives conflicting signals.
- IGN expects TV and Apple deals but warns consoles, graphics cards, RAM and 4K Blu-ray players are unlikely to be cheap.

Black Friday 2026 lands on Friday, Nov. 27, the day after Thanksgiving, but the sales are already spread across most of November. As of Tuesday, Nov. 3, Walmart, Best Buy and Target have all published their own dates, and Amazon has not given a Black Friday Week schedule in anything we could read. Cyber Monday is Nov. 30, according to Today.

## When do Walmart, Best Buy and Target Black Friday sales start?

Here is the calendar from the retailers' own announcements.

- **Target:** Early Black Friday deals run Nov. 5 to 7, and Today reports that new weekly deals follow through the season. Target's page also lists a daily "Deal of the Day" offer, and USA Today's search summary says that runs Nov. 1 to Dec. 24.
- **Best Buy:** Early Black Friday Deals and Doorbusters start Nov. 6, with new deals dropping every Friday. Ten days of Black Friday doorbusters and deals begin Nov. 19, then a Cyber Sunday and Monday sale, Cyber Week deals from Dec. 1 to 6, and last-minute savings from Dec. 18 to 24. All of that is from Best Buy's own Oct. 27 release.
- **Walmart:** Early Black Friday Deals run Nov. 12 to 15, Black Friday Deals run Nov. 23 to 29, and Cyber Monday Deals run Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, per Walmart's Oct. 26 announcement.

Walmart's online events open at 12:01 a.m. ET. In stores, the first event starts at 6 a.m. local time on Nov. 12, and the main Black Friday event starts in stores at 6 a.m. local time on Nov. 27. Best Buy says its stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, although deals will still run in its app and on BestBuy.com.

## Has Amazon announced Black Friday 2026 dates?

Not in the sources we read. IGN's Black Friday guide lists Amazon as "TBD" in its start-date list, though a widget on the same page mentions an Amazon sale starting Nov. 5. Those two items do not agree, so treat any Amazon date as unconfirmed until Amazon posts it. IGN's table also puts Best Buy at Nov. 19, Walmart at Nov. 23 and Target at Nov. 27. Those are the dates the main events start, not the first sale days, and the retailers' own pages above are the better guide for early deals.

## What will actually be on sale, and what will not?

IGN's deals team expects discounts on 4K TVs, monitors and projectors, plus Apple products such as AirPods, iPads and Apple Watches. It also expects older LEGO sets that are being retired, 4K Blu-rays, board games and vinyl records, with physical video games dropping a bit before Black Friday.

The same guide says to temper expectations in a few places:

- Game consoles. IGN notes price increases on Switch 2, Xbox and PS5 this year, and says deals are unlikely with GTA 6 launching on Nov. 19. The exception it expects is Switch 2 bundles.
- Gaming PCs, graphics cards and RAM. IGN says AI demand has pushed GPU and memory prices through the roof and that a good gaming PC under $1,500 will be hard to find. Our own report on [RTX 50 prices](/post/rtx-50-prices-rise-again-in-november-what-u-s-buyers-pay) has the numbers.
- 4K Blu-ray players. IGN says prices have risen and stock is scarce, so discs may be cheaper than the players that run them.

## How can you shop smarter?

Pick your date by what you want to buy. If it is a toy or home item, Target's Nov. 5 to 7 window comes first. If it is a TV or laptop, Best Buy's Nov. 6 start and Nov. 19 doorbusters are the ones to watch. Walmart's Nov. 12 event is the place for broad gifts under $20, and its press release says its Top Toys list has 25 toys priced under $25.

A few store policies matter too. Best Buy says its Holiday Price Match Guarantee will match the price if a product it sells drops during the holiday season, and that most purchases made Oct. 30 through Dec. 31 can be returned through Jan. 15, 2027, or Jan. 31, 2027 for Plus and Total members. Those members also earn double rewards from Nov. 19 to Dec. 6. At Walmart, select online-only deals are reserved for Walmart+ members for the first 24 hours of the early and main Black Friday events, and a Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus bundle costs $120 a year.

## What is confirmed and what is not?

- Confirmed by the retailers: the Walmart, Best Buy and Target date ranges above and the Best Buy return and price match terms.
- Reported by outlets: the Nov. 27 date for Black Friday and Nov. 30 for Cyber Monday, and which product types tend to be discounted.
- Not confirmed: Amazon's dates, Costco's schedule, and any specific prices on products. Deal prices change fast, and we have not listed any.

## Our take

The big change is how early everything starts. The Black Friday weekend is no longer the first date to circle on the calendar, and for most categories there is a decent early sale before it. Our advice is to write down today's price on the two or three things you want, then compare it against the early events. If the price has dropped by a sensible amount, buy it. If you are shopping for a console or a graphics card, do not hold your breath. That is an opinion based on the reports above, not a prediction of any specific price.
