## Key takeaways

- Engadget scored the Anker Soundcore Space 2 Pro 8.4/10 on Nov. 6, 2026. The score is Engadget's, not Savvy VibeZ's; we did not test it.
- Anker lists the headphones at $199.99. Engadget measured 31 hours of battery with noise canceling mostly on, versus Anker's 30-hour claim.
- Engadget praised call clarity and design but called the noise canceling average and the extra audio features unhelpful.
- SoundGuys scored it 7.8 on Sept. 22, citing odd sound tuning, so reviewers disagree on the sound.

Engadget gave the Anker Soundcore Space 2 Pro an 8.4 out of 10 in a review published Nov. 6, 2026. That score belongs to Engadget and reviewer Billy Steele, not to Savvy VibeZ, and we have not tested the headphones ourselves. Anker lists them at $199.99 on its own store as of Nov. 8, and Engadget's verdict is that they rival much pricier Apple, Bose and Sony models for call quality and design.

Here is what the review found, where a second outlet disagrees and who should think twice before buying.

## What did Engadget say about the Soundcore Space 2 Pro?

Engadget called them a "worthy contender" at $200 and said the headphones look more expensive than they are. The review praises the metal fit sliders, the leather-wrapped headband and ear pads, and the comfortable fit. It also says the sound has more bass and clarity than is typical at this price, thanks to 35mm drivers made from two different materials.

The standout is the microphone. Engadget says the six-microphone array and Anker's new Thus audio chip deliver extremely clear voice calls while still blocking background noise, without making the wearer sound robotic. Anker says the headphones hold a Guinness World Record for the clearest over-ear headphones for calls, and Anker's product page repeats that claim. The reviewer admitted skepticism going in and said the real-world results won him over.

Battery life held up. Anker promises up to 30 hours with noise canceling on and up to 60 hours with it off. Engadget measured 31 hours, mostly with noise canceling on.

## What are the downsides?

Engadget's list of cons is short and specific. The extra audio features do not improve the sound, and the noise canceling is average. The reviewer said the Hear ID 5.0 hearing-test profile, spatial audio and the preset sound modes never beat the default tuning. The headphones also struggled with constant noise like white noise machines and loud fans, though they handled voices and keyboard clicks well.

There is one more oddity. An "AI Note-Taker" is listed as "TBD" on the spec sheet. Engadget says that if it arrives, the transcription service would come with a subscription after a free tier of two hours of transcription a month, for two years. Paid plans would run $8.33 or $20 a month, billed annually. Nobody knows whether the feature will ship, and Engadget says its absence did not affect the score.

## Does any other review disagree?

Yes, and it matters. SoundGuys scored the headphones 7.8 in a review published Sept. 22, which is older than Engadget's, so keep that date in mind. SoundGuys liked the microphones and noise canceling, rating its lab-measured noise cancelling 8.8 out of 10, but headlined its review as one that left the writer disappointed. Its verdict is that the sound "leaves much to be desired" because of odd tuning.

That split is the whole story here. Engadget's reviewer liked the sound for the money. SoundGuys did not. Two critics heard the same headphones and landed on different sides, which is why we would not buy on a number alone.

## Who should buy the Space 2 Pro?

Our take: this is a call headphone first and a music headphone second. If you spend your day on video calls in a noisy apartment or open office, Engadget's findings make a strong case. If you want the best noise canceling or the most neutral sound, the reviews give you reasons to look elsewhere or listen first.

Price is the other factor. Engadget puts the best overall headphones at $460 at full price, so $199.99 leaves a lot of room. SoundGuys notes the Space 2 Pro costs about $70 more than the cheaper Soundcore Space 2, which it listed at $130, and says the older model has longer battery life. So the real question is whether better calls are worth the premium.

Two practical notes. SoundGuys says there is no water or dust resistance rating, so these are not gym headphones. And the colors are limited to black, white and gray, per SoundGuys.
